Building Software Security Super Human

Nothing screams “future” louder than AI. Yeah, I know, another article about AI, but like it or not, life as we know it is transforming. So, it’s best to stay informed, right? It’s for the good — and yes, I said good, because there are no bad things ahead. This is human evolution, whether you love it or fear it (unless you think evolution is bad, in which case, we need to talk). Humans are wired to get better, to innovate, and to complain about it every step of the way. Spoiler alert: the future doesn’t care about your complaints. It’s coming anyway.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane.

What happened during the Industrial Revolution?

People moaned about machines stealing their jobs.

E-commerce boom?

Brick-and-mortar stores said it was the end of retail.

The Blockbuster meltdown and rise of Netflix?

Remember that? People mourned the loss of late fees and physical DVD rentals (as if we actually liked rewinding tapes).

In all these cases, after some grumbling, the same people embraced the change because, well, it was undeniably better. Netflix is way more convenient than Blockbuster ever was. IKEA’s flat-packed furniture might require an engineering degree to assemble, but it’s affordable and stylish. And AI? AI is next on that list. Trust me, we’ll get used to it too.

But when I say “AI” here, I’m not talking about cute kitten memes generated by ChatGPT or AI doodles of puppies on jet skis. No, I’m talking about machines equipped with the brainpower to handle jobs currently done by humans — complex, cognitive tasks. Jobs that require decision-making skills on par with a conscious human mind. And guess what? These AI-powered machines are about to level up, from “similar to humans” to “better than humans.”

Enter: Superhumans.

Now, before you throw your phone or laptop out the window in panic, I’m not saying robots are going to take over the world. That’s a conversation for sci-fi nerds or the tinfoil-hat crowd. I’m talking about practical, inevitable advancements in industries like cybersecurity — specifically, the field of Software Security.

To drive this home, let’s build our hypothetical “perfect software security expert.” Here’s the checklist for a top-tier security guru:

  1. Mastery of at least one programming language (Java, NodeJS, Python — pick your poison).
  2. Expertise in frameworks like OWASP Top 10 and NIST Top 25.
  3. Solid experience with mobile security.
  4. Penetration testing skills, with some red-team experience for spice.
  5. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  6. The ability to build and deliver application security training programs.
  7. Expertise in integrating security tools like SAST and open-source scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  8. A talent for triaging security findings.
  9. The skill to fine-tune rulesets for high-quality results.
  10. Clear and effective communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  11. The ability to deliver concise, actionable reports to both developers and C-suite execs.
  12. Reverse-engineering wizardry to hunt down software vulnerabilities.

Whew! That’s already a tall order for any human. But wait — let’s make it harder. Imagine you add these requirements on top:

  • Must work 24/7 (coffee optional).
  • Needs to replicate itself because no one else can do this job.
  • Must continuously learn and improve.
  • No salary increases (in fact, costs should go down over time, while output improves).

Huh? Sounds like a superhero, right? Or maybe an impossible job description. Well, guess what? It’s impossible for a human, but not for a superhuman. And by “superhuman,” I mean AI.

Imagine an AI model built to possess all those skills — and more. That’s not a fantasy. We’re closer to this reality than most people realize. These models already exist in some capacity, and while they’re not fully there yet, they’re learning fast, and soon, they’ll outshine us mere mortals.

When AI hits this level, the billion (if not trillion) dollar cybersecurity industry will be shaken to its core. Everyone will want these cyber-security superhumans on their team. And here’s where AquilaX fits in. We’re not saying we’re changing the industry yet, but we’re building a series of models that will do just that. Each model will specialize in a different area of software security, and collectively, they will outperform any human expert in the 12-point checklist above.

We’ve got the data, the know-how, and the drive to make it happen. And soon, we’ll release the initial version of our Superhuman AquilaX AI Models. These models will offer security that doesn’t sleep, doesn’t need vacations, and only gets better over time. The future of cybersecurity isn’t just safe — it’s superhuman.

So, whether you’re a security expert or just curious about the next leap in tech, we invite you to try out the first version of AquilaX Security at https://app.aquilax.ai.

And hey, to my fellow cybersecurity professionals: let’s chat! Your ideas, feedback, and collaboration are more than welcome. Let’s shape this AI-powered future together.

And if you’re still not convinced? Well, remember how you got used to IKEA and Netflix. You’ll get used to this too — probably faster than you think.
